A bit about me

Writing has always been my thing. One of my earliest memories of writing was having two of my poems featured in the school newsletter in 2nd grade. I still remember the first two lines, but I wish I still had a copy of the newsletter. Graduating from Indiana University with a degree in journalism set me on my writing career path, starting as an in-house copywriter for a Chicago retailer before switching gears to public relations. I’ve worked on PR campaigns for a range of clients – from specialty medical associations to a local professional sports team.

What I’m passionate about at work

Helping clients achieve their goals is very gratifying. Brainstorming different strategies to help them communicate their message or launch a new program is one of my favorite aspects of working in public relations. Writing just the right pitch to pique the media’s interest in our clients’ stories keeps my creative juices flowing. Working with the media to get clients earned media coverage is always challenging but can be so rewarding when you get a great story placed.

A favorite memory at CS-Effect

I enjoy being part of such a passionate group of women who work hard and always inspire each other to think outside the box. Helping one of our medical clients meet their certification renewal goals during a challenging time in this field was rewarding, as we incorporated several different communication strategies to drive up numbers in a short period of time.

My favorite things to do outside of work

Aside from spending time with family and friends, I love taking daily walks with our dog and being outdoors. In the summer, you can find me swimming nearly every day and sneaking in a bike ride. I like to cook and am always up for trying new recipes. I’m also a movie buff and a bit of a bookworm. My favorite place to travel is sunny Southern California.

A quote that inspires me
