Our Chicago-based agency is seeking a highly motivated, entrepreneurial-minded Senior Communications Associate to support our public relations, content development and internal marketing initiatives.

This is a full-time, remote position. This position does require you to travel to Chicago quarterly for team meetings and occasional client meetings or events.

We offer a competitive compensation and benefits package ranging from $62,000 to $70,000 annually (depending on your experience), including performance-based incentives.

What The Role Entails:

As the Senior Communications Associate, you will have the opportunity to support a diverse range of clients, including Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and associations in many industries from healthcare to education and professional services. Responsibilities will include:

Media Relations:

  • Working with the senior team to develop media strategies for our clients.

  • Developing media lists, media materials, and proactively contacting the media to secure interviews for clients.

  • Pitching thought leadership opportunities and securing speaking engagements at conferences and events.

  • Building strong relationships with and maintaining a robust network of media contacts.

Content Development:

  • Writing news releases, blog posts, and website articles.

  • Developing case studies that showcase our clients' successes.

  • Managing social media platforms and crafting engaging messages for various social channels.

Internal Marketing Support:

  • Producing a monthly newsletter with engaging content for our respective audiences.

  • Developing case studies that showcase our successes.

  • Writing web content, including blog posts, and managing social media platforms.

Your Skills and Experience:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, resourceful and:

  • Thrives in an environment where they operate autonomously, get to wear multiple hats, and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Has 3-5 years experience in communications, public relations, journalism or a related field. This includes previously working in a remote environment.

  • Agency experience is a plus.

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Public Relations, Journalism or a related field.

  • Boasts exceptional written and oral communication skills. (There will be a writing test during the interview process.)

  • Has a reliable home-office setup with a computer, high-speed internet, video camera, etc.    

  • Embraces technology, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Google Analytics, social media analytics, MailChimp, Cision, Canva, and video production (for social media) are a plus.
