A bit about me

Originally from a suburb of Detroit, I moved to Chicago to attend DePaul University where I am studying public relations and political science with a minor in community service studies. Now a senior, I have been enjoying opportunities to explore many sectors of the communications profession, specifically as CS-Effect. Thanks to the CS-Effect team, I am constantly learning, challenged and motivated to better myself as a communications professional outside of the classroom. In my free time, I am the Public Relations Coordinator for the Student Government Association and an athlete on DePaul Women’s Rowing.

What I’m passionate about at work

The ability to inspire change through communications. I chose to study public relations because I truly believe communication has the power to influence society for the better. Because of the CS-Effect team and the diversity of our clients, I am always learning how  to cause the greatest effect and make a positive impact through communications.

A favorite memory at CS-Effect

Memorable moments are when I am able to apply what I learn in the classroom to my work at CS-Effect. Specifically securing a media placement and coordinating an interview with a local media outlet for a NorthShore University HealthSystem’s benefit concert was one of my favorite memories. Not only was I able to better my public relations skills, I was able to promote an event benefiting cancer patients; creating positive change. Being able to learn and gain a variety of skills through different client projects, be a part of the CS-Effect rebranding transition and work alongside intelligent communications professionals, has been a meaningful memory within itself.

My favorite things to do outside of work

In my free time, I enjoy reading, running along the lake, rowing, exploring  as many Chicago restaurants as possible and volunteering through incredible non-profits throughout the city!

A quote that inspires me

“My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style.” – Maya Angelou
